Do you like to run? Swim? Bike? Hula-hoop? What outdoor activity do you love? At Making Miracles for Cystic Fibrosis, we would like to find people who want to merge their fun outdoor activities with our cause! At Making Miracles for CF, we are focused on making today the best that it can be. We encourage a holistic wellness in the cystic fibrosis patient. It is no secret that exercise is pivotal to overall mental and physical health. Many with cf are so sick that exercise is a daunting task, but still necessary.

As a matter of fact, the Children's Hospital of Minnesota wrote in their patient education manual that "A fit body is strong and flexible. It uses oxygen more effectively, so less is needed to do an activity. A fit body is also able to resist or fight infections better and may result in fewer or shorter hospital stays. In addition, exercise will help to loosen mucus in the airways so it can be coughed up easier."

It also cautioned all cystic fibrosis patients to make sure their exercise regime is approved by your doctor. Life and wellness is such a gift. If you don't have cystic fibrosis, we encourage you to use your blessing of a healthy body to aid those that have been less fortunate. If you do have cystic fibrosis, we encourage you to speak to your doctor about an exercise regime if you have not already done so. Run a marathon for Making Miracles, hold your own hula- hoop fundraiser, organize a neighborhood walk and collect funds for cf – the possibilities are endless!
