About Making Miracles
This foundation was created by Stephanie and Scott Cleveland out of a true love and passion for a little girl next door. Her name is Mary Lindsey Hannahan, and her kind spirit and gentle way– despite her struggles with cystic fibrosis– motivated the Clevelands to raise money to fight this disease. Mary Lindsey is in many ways a typical sophomore — a cheerleader at her school, an excellent student, and has a social schedule that makes her mom's head spin. Her fight against cystic fibrosis is far from the life of a "typical sophomore". Mary Lindsey has endured innumerable doctor visits and hospital stays coupled with multiple tests and surgeries. Her cough is constant; a never-ending reminder that the disease is alive and in a battle of its own. Mary Lindsey attempts to combat cf daily by taking over 55 pills, tolerating five breathing treatments, participating in chest physical therapy, and nasal irrigations. This is her "well" routine. If she is sick, that daily regimen is nearly doubled! If watching Mary Lindsey wasn't hard enough, the Clevelands also befriended Tonya Gomien, mother of two children with cf. Lexi, Tonya's daughter is thirteen, and Brannon is ten years old. They don't know what a day is like without cf... YET! Experienced, and armed with a true passion for the cause, Tonya joined the foundation as the Executive Director. Mary Lindsey's mom, Lindsey Hannahan joined the Board of Directors, and Stephanie has headed up the whole venture on a strictly volunteer basis. The Clevelands are dedicated to continuing the growth of their army of supporters and battle cystic fibrosis until a cure is found. Mary Lindsey, Lexi and Brannon are the inspiration behind the conception of the Foundation, but all of those with cf or touched by someone with cf are part of our "Miracle Family". We are dedicated to fighting for you when you can't, and you are welcome to join us when you are able. Our "Miracle Family" continues to grow as we have gained the support of country music and television performers such as John Rich, Ashton Shepherd, the Musik Mafia, and Cary Laine! At Making Miracles, we believe that while it is adequate enough to have hope for tomorrow, it is necessary to make miracles happen today!
